Scientists are people just like everyone else – they have hopes and dreams, fears and superstitions. Especially when it comes to growing cell cultures. Playing on the emotional connection scientists have with their research, the Cell Culture Success experience tapped into scientists very real superstitions. Sharing the crazy things they do to ensure the success of their experiments earned them the chance to have their work published by JOVE, a respected peer-reviewed scientific journal. The campaign’s extension, #CORNINGCELLFIE, invited scientists to share photos of their cells exhibiting advanced behaviors for a chance to win giant, framed paintings of their work.
